Birth date estimated.Christening details obtained from parish records transcripts held at East Sussex Records Office, Lewes. He is believed to have married Mary Golds in Steyning Q2 1903, 2B, 612. They moved up to the Croydon area at some point after 1911. Their daughter Sybil Violet married William Richards Q1 1931 in the Croydon registration area. William was the brother of John Daniel Richards, who married Evelyn Avis, mums sister, in 1936. It is believed that Mary Bailey, William Baileys first wife, died Q1 1940 in the Croydon registration area, and that William remarried in Q2 1941 to Gladys Vera Cobb, in the Croydon registration area.
