Birth registered Jan-Mar 1894 in Tunbridge district.Christening details obtained at Maidstone Records Office 15/02/2011.It was a private baptism. On obtaining his death certificate, the informant was B. Deacon, his son, also of 1 Corner Cottage, Benenden. I checked for births and marriages on ancestry, and believe that Charles married Mary W. Weeks Q1 1922 in the West Ashford, Kent registration area. I found a Brian J. Deacon born Q2 1938 in West Ashford, whose mothers maiden name was Weeks. I also found a David C. Deacon born Q2 1934 in the West Ashford area with a mother whose maiden name was Weeks. When Charles died, he was a retired domestic gardener. At the time of the 1921 census, Charles, his father,and brothers Henry and Albert were employed by Mr C G S Freeland, of Fuller Farm Smarden, with Charles employed as a stock man. At the time of the 1939 census, Charles was a stock man on a farm.
