Notes:

Birth date estimated.Marriage details taken from parish records transcript held at East Sussex Records Office, Lewes. These also detail that John was a labourer, that Eliza was a servant and her father William was a labourer, and that John and Eliza were both living at Five Ashes when they got married. Birth certificate of daughter Ellen shows that Eliza could not write. Theweald.org showed her parents to be William Miller and Lydia Miller nee Hartfield. After John's death, she remarried on 18th November 1876 to Andrew Weeks, at St Dunstans's Mayfield. She died sometime after 1891, possibly registered Q2 1897 in the Lewes district as Eliza Weeks. Visit to Lewes Records Office 10/1/2012 showed Andrew died at the Uckfield Union workhouse and was buried 20/1/1896 aged 85 at Mayfield, although I cannot yet find Eliza's burial(not in Mayfield burial registers).
