Birth date taken from birth certificate obtained. Various inaccurate ages given on different census records etc. On 'findmypast' marriage records show that Ellen Ticehurst married Edward DAKIN in Tunbridge Wells in 1864 - registered April-June. Also, various spelling of his name e.g. Deaton.He had died by the census of 1901, as Ellen showed as widowed. He could not write his name, hence mark of.8/2/2011 confirmed christening date/location at East Sussex Records Office, Lewes.He was only 53 when he died, and his daughter Eliza Ann Thrift, from Red Row, Lower Green, Pembury, was present at the death.25/6/2011 Pembury burial register viewed at Maidstone Records Office, showing his burial on 18/7/1899, aged 53, Vicar H. Sinclair Brooke, number in grave register N76.Edward's son Frederick had a daughter, Kate Edith Deacon, who was christened on 5/8/1894, parents Frederick and Annie Elizabeth Deacon, living in Millhouse, Romford, Pembury. 17/8/2011 looked at Lower Green Cemetery map at Pembury Parish Council, grave North Border 76, registration number 280. Wife Ellen (who had remarried as Ellen Terry after his death) also buried in the same grave 12/08/1935.
