Ann is a legatee in the will of John Avis, 1728 to 1806, and it was through that that I found her existence. I will check for further details at the Lewes Records Office. 16/4/2013 visit to Lewes records office I viewed the Withyham marriage register and found the marriage of Abraham Spencer and Anne Avis, both of Withyham parish, by licence. They both signed, and the witnesses were John Luck and John Hall.They had the following children. Joseph baptised in Withyham 29/4/1785(received 100 pounds in his grandfather John Avis will of 1806). 16/11/1786, John Spencer. 13/2/1788, Anne Spencer (received 100 pounds in her grandfather John Avis will of 1806). 7/6/1795, Sarah Spencer. Ann received 300 pounds in her father John Avis will of 1806.
