Notes:
Mary married Thomas Muddle(1671-1756), clockmaker, and their 3 sons also became clockmakers - Thomas (1707 - 1785) in Tunbridge Wells, Edward (1709-1788) in Chatham, and Nicholas (1716-1807) in Lindfield and then Tonbridge. Nicholas was the last of the Dadswell clockmakers, as none of the next generation took up this occupation. See Mary's father Edward's page for further information. See the attached signatures for Thomas Muddle - He wrote only his mark on the left hand side - he was a witness on 13/9/1688 when his mother gave a mortgage to John Ellyott. By the time he was the witness for the marriage settlement of his niece Sarah Rose on 3/7/1731, he could write his name - that is on the right hand side. Nine months after the death of her husband Mary died on 23 December 1756, at the age of 78, and she was buried with her husband in the Churchyard of St Denys at Rotherfield on 27 December 1756. Thomas and Mary%92s grave is marked by an inscribed headstone.
