Baptism register viewed at Lewes Records Office 31/5/2012 - Elizabeth was christened along with Thomas and Sarah - it was noted that they were children of John Avis, all bastards. Elizabeth is a legatee in the will of John Avis, 1728 to 1806. Elizabeth received 500 pounds in her father John Avis will of 1806. See the attached 3 pages of her will, from the records of the prerogative court of Canterbury, downloaded from the National Archives. Her executor was her nephew Peter Avis, the son of her deceased brother Peter, who it is believed died and left his will in 1803.
