8/2/2011 confirmed christening date/location at East Sussex Records Office, Lewes.William ran the Five Ashes Inn with his wife and family at least from 1891 until he died in 1914, when it passed to their daughter Elsie and her husband Alfred Berwick. See attachment. William and Emily also had a daughter Harriet Jane Pettit, 1865 to 1902. See attached photos taken from ancestry. She married George Joseph Collins in Mayfield in 1891. They had several children, including Beatrice or Beat Collins, born 1898 in Mayfield, and Alice May Collins, born 1902 in Mayfield.
