11/2/2012 - visit to Lewes Records Office confirmed that Richard and Lydia were the parents of Richard Bayley, christened 3/12/1775. 7/1/2013 Visit to Lewes Records Office found Mayfield baptism 11/2/1747(although difficult to read to be certain of date) of Richard, son of Elizabeth Bailey - bastard child. A tree on ancestry has him marrying Lydia Lavender(1748-1814) on 15/4/1770, and has his name down as Nicholas (Richard) Bailey, and he has several siblings.
