Details taken from parish record books on visit to Lewes Records Office 30/03/2011. On visit to Lewes Records Office 10/1/2012 found burial record at Rotherfield for 13/12/1866, for a John Coomber, aged about 35, died at the Union House(Uckfield), although the death registration shows him to be about 31, which ties in with his date of birth.11/2/2012 - visit to Lewes Records Office - checked Indoor Relief List for Uckfield workhouse. Found that a John Coomber, born 1835, a labourer/cripple, was in the workhouse for just 1 day, from the parish of Rotherfield, and then died.
