Notes:

Details taken from parish record books on visit to Lewes Records Office 30/03/2011. Jane married Samuel Streater, Sarah Ann's brother, 5/5/1862 in Eridge Green. He is believed to have died Q2 1875 in the Hailsham district, aged 38. By the time of the 1881 census, Jane was in the East Grinstead Union workhouse aged 50, with Sarah Ann, aged 14, Alice Jane, aged 12, and Emily, aged 6. On a visit to Chichester Records Office 20/1/2012 I viewed the Creed Register for the workhouse, and found that Jane and her children had been admitted and discharged from/to East Grinstead a couple of times - 21/8/1880 - 27/8/1880, and 13/11/1880 - 16/4/1881. Information gleaned from Ancestry.co.uk - Emily was christened 6/12/1874 in Warbleton in Sussex, and is on the 1891 census as a servant in Heathfield. Alice Jane is on the 1891 census as a servant in Buxted. Sarah Ann married Ernest Alfred Fuller Q2 1896 in the Hailsham district, and they were living in Hellingly in East Sussex in 1901. Amos, who was not in the workhouse with them, but appears on the 1871 census with them aged 9, by the time of the 1881 census was a servant at the New Inn in Pevensey aged 17. In 1891 he was living with his wife Hannah and children in Eastbourne aged 28. In 1901 he was in Eastbourne with his wife and children aged 37. I believe he died Q4 1937 in the Eastbourne district, aged 74.
