Visit to Lewes Records Office 22/2/2011 found her christening record in the Frant parish transcripts - her father George was a labourer at the time. Ellen married John Frederick Figgett in Q1 1892 in the Tonbridge district. At the time of the 1901 census they lived 59 High Street, Tunbridge Wells. When Ellen's mother Sarah died in November 1904 in the Tonbridge workhouse, John was the informant - they were living at 31 The Pantiles Tunbridge Wells at the time. There is a family tree on ancestry showing that Ellen and Frederick had a daughter, Winifred Figgett, 2/6/1909 - 4/8/1973. She married Leslie Harry Burgess, 1911-1992, Q1 1931 in the Tonbridge district. (They also had other children - John and Burnard were listed on the 1901 census). I believe that John died Q2 1958 in the Tonbridge district aged 84.I have made contact with Ellen's great-granddaughter Jennifer Apps. On a visit to Tunbridge Wells 26/3/2013, in the Tourist Information Centre, I came across a book called Ghosts of the Pantiles. It had several pages regarding 31 The Pantiles, where Ellen and her husband John lived at least from 1904 until they died, and refers to them and their family. See pages attached. At the time of the 1939 census Nellie and John were still living at 31 The Pantiles.
