Birth date taken from 1939 census return.Visit to Lewes Records Office 22/2/2011 found her christening record in the Frant parish transcripts - her father George was a labourer at the time. Frances married Walter Saunders, who was born about 1863 in Rotherfield. They had the following children - Daisy born about 1886 in Bidborough in Kent, Sissy born about 1887 in Wadhurst in Sussex, and Alfred born about 1890 in Groombridge in Kent(I believe that Alfred William died Q1 1949 in Rusthall in the Tonbridge district). I believe that Frances died Q3 1938, and that Walter died Q1 1940, both in the Uckfield district. I checked out the Mayfield marriage register at Lewes Records Office 31/10/2014, to see if there was any clue as to what had happened to her father George. Her father was down as George Coomber, labourer. I didn't see any references on the records that I saw to any fathers being deceased, so believe they just didnt record it. THe witnesses were Frank and Mary Ann Saunders. At the time of the 1921 census they were living at Bugsell Farm Cottage, Robertsbridge, Salehurst, and Walter was working for Mr Taylor, Farmer. At the time of the 1939 census Frances and Walter were living at 2 Store Cottage, Motts Mill, Groombridge, Withyham. They were both incapacitated, with Frances also described as invalid.
