1871 census has family surname as Deaton.8/2/2011 confirmed christening date/location at East Sussex Records Office, Lewes. Parents were living in Pembury at the time.Her father Edward was only 53 when he died, and his daughter Eliza Ann Thrift, from Red Row, Lower Green, Pembury, was present at the death.This death certificate also shows that Eliza could not write. Eliza married William Thrift in the Tonbridge district in 1882. The 1881 census shows William living as a boarder and agricultural labourer at Dundale Farm in Pembury. 17/8/2011 looked at Lower Green Cemetery map at Pembury Parish Council, and noticed that Eliza and her husband William were buried in grave number 77 next to Elizas parents grave. William died Q2 1898, and Eliza in Q3 1954. Ancestry shows them having several children. Mary Ann born 1883. William 1885 to 1952. Elizabeth born 1888. Charles Henry 1890 to 1966. Gertrude Maud 1892 to 1968. Alice May born 1894. in the 1911 census, Eliza is living with her married daughter Mary Ann Bailey, who married Charles William Bailey Q2 1905.
