Notes:
1881 census has surname as Deaton.Christening details obtained at Maidstone Records Office 15/02/2011. 6/9/2011 visit to Lewes Records Office - Par344/25/1 - Frant parish school (Hawkenbury Church School) admissions register - showed no Coombers/Combers but 5 Deacons - Edith, Albert, George, Rose and Thomas. Edith was admissions number 260, being admitted 26/6/1882, dob 1/8/1871, father Edward of Dundale Cottages in Pembury, left 19/6/1885, last at school in Pembury. Married Charles Herbert Goodsell in Q4 1890, in the Tonbridge area. In the 1911 census it says she has been married for 20 years, and has had 2 children, both still living. I believe she had a daughter Edith Frances Goodsell, born 31/1/1895 in Sandhurst, Kent, who married Stanley James Delamont on 10/5/1914 in Newtown, NSW, Australia. I believe she died 5/2/1984 in Mittagong aged 89, and that she had 5 children. I believe her husband Stanley James Delamont had a criminal record in Australia. See the attached 1911 census for Ediths daughter Edith Frances Goodsell where she was a 16 year old servant in Hawkhurst Kent. I cannot find her emigration to Australia, which must have been between 1911 and 1914. However, I believe I have found the emigration for her father Charles and her brother Frederick, aged 41 and 17, arriving in Sydney Australia 22/2/1911, having left London on the ship Wilcannia. On the 1901 census Charles and Ediths children were down as Frederick, 7, Edith, 6, and Charles, 4. Charles was also aged 31 in 1901, so all the dates and ages comply. On Stanley James Delamonts register of coroners inquest, see attached, it shows he died due to a fracture of base of skull accidentally received by two bicycles colliding head on.
