Notes:
1881 census shows surname as Deaton.Christening details obtained at Maidstone Records Office 15/02/2011.In those same records we found christening details for children of George and his wife Mary Ann Deacon - Florence Emily christened 1/8/1897, father a keeper, curate Cullen, and they were living in Keepers Cottage Wood. Then there was George, christened 1/1/1899, father a gamekeeper, vicar H. Sinclair Brooke, and they were living in Keepers Cottage, The Forest, Tonbridge. Then there were Dorothy and May Mary, christened, possibly privately, on 20/07/1904, the father a gardener, the vicar H. Sinclair Brooke, and they were living at Henwoods Green, Pembury. There was also a record for a daughter born 28/10/1920, Amelia Deacon, to parents George and Hilda May - cannot tell if the George was this one born in 1870, or his son born circa 1899. The child's father was a carter, the vicar was Edwards, and they were living 49 Elmhurst Avenue, Pembury. Then it is believed that that last child had a daughter, Linda Anne Deacon, born 17/01/1951 and christened 1/8/1954. Her mother was down as Amelia Louisa Hilda Deacon, the ceremony was performed by C. H. Cartwright, and Hilda May and George Deacon, and Joan Curd were present, and the mother was living at 50 Elmshurst Avenue Pembury.17/8/2011 looked at Lower Green Cemetery map at Pembury Parish Council, grave number 884, registration number 497.
